obsessive kniting addiction strikes again

I didn't mean to get all hot and heavy on another sweater for myself, but it happened.  Yep, I'm knitting a February Lady sweater.  Couldn't help it.

I love the beginning of a new sweater.  As soon as I cast on, I'm in love.  It's an infatuation, really.  I can't put it down, knitting like the wind.  But then I get to this point, the middle of the body, and I start to lose interest.  By the time I get to the sleeves, I've totally lost it.  But I carry on.  Somewhere near the end of the first sleeve, I fall in love again, egar for a finished project. 

I have a feeling my Blackcherry Lady may not get done until February - I'm nearing the end of the first sleeve on the Somewhat Cowl and I'm itching to cast on again...

December already?

I feel like the last 4-5 days have been a blur.  A blur of preparations, rushing to get here or there, and lots of visiting with family and friends.  The not all the circumstances surrounding the blur were happy (though many were), but the common theme was being with loved ones.  Not only did I spend quality time with the family that is a part of my every day life, I got the chance to visit with family members that I haven't seen in years.  It had been way too long, and there is really no good excuse.  I've decided that is going to change.  I am so blessed to be surrounded by family that lives nearby (Hi Mema, I know you're reading :)).  So, as we enter the season of hustle and bustle, I vow to take it slow and and enjoy everyday.  It isn't about the stuff, about buying or making gifts, the important thing is spending time with those you love, making memories.
