A few months back when I was in my decorating frenzy I mentioned that I picked up a bed frame and dresser for the girls' room. I found both pieces at a local thrift store - not cheap, but a pretty good price for solid furniture. When I bought them, I had a vision. I knew that I would paint them something fun. I didn't think that it would take me this long to get around to doing anything with that furniture, but it has. That poor furniture has been sitting under my carport, untouched, since March (and still is - we're so classy).
Last weekend the weather cooperated with lower than normal humidity and sunny skies, so I took the opportunity to start working on the bed. I let Lily pick out the color. Do you like it? I think it looks pretty nice - perfect for a girls room. I had hoped to work on the dresser as well, but I only got around to the sanding.
We still have a long way to go on their room, but we're one step closer. I think once their room is done, it may be my favorite room in the house. Just look at the bed! And you can bet that I'll be making some pillows, probably a quilt, and be using some of my vintage floral sheets. Oh boy, I get excited just thinking about it - I hope my two girlies end up liking it as much I will!
