My goodness, I was a little cranky last night, wasn't I? Sorry about that. I blame it on the cold. Since I started knitting, whenever we get these cold spells, I always wish that the sweater I'm currently working on was finished right that instant to wear, because no other sweater will do. I'm kind of feeling that way now with my Tea Leaves. I probably would be finished with my first version if I hadn't messed up and had to restart. I'm okay with that because I am in LOVE with the do-over. I'm making it out of super soft sock yarn. I thought changing the pattern to a smaller gauge would have me knitting forever, but I'm almost finished with the body. Who knows, I may have it done in time for the teens this weekend (okay, I'm not really counting on that).
Isn't it yummy? Even though I can't wear it right now, I do enjoy having it in my lap.
Oh, I remembered to take a photo of Matt wearing his sweater vest this weekend (I think it looks better with a long sleeve shirt). This was at the party we had this weekend. Yes, I actually had real people over to my house, close to 30 of them! If you've read my blog for a while, you'd know that I have a thing about inviting people over. I want to invite people over, really, but I get all stressed out about it all. I start thinking about all the many projects that we've put off forever that should get done, and I start seeing dirt and dust everywhere. Suddenly, my house feels like a dump not fit for human habitation. I drive myself crazy. It was tense around here for a while, but the day of the party, I let it go (and managed to stay calm when Matt decided that he wanted to put down a thresh hold to the hall bath 2 hours before people were to arrive - he didn't do it, thank goodness). Everything was fine, no one was appalled at the dust on my bathroom light bulbs, finger prints on the doors, or hideously ugly dining room light fixture. I don't know why I was even worried (or mopped the floors). It was a very nice evening. Now that I'm over that hump, I just may do it again. Could 2010 be my year of entertaining? Well, I don't know about that, but I do know that I don't plan to put down my knitting any time soon!
