On our way out the door to the farmer's market last weekend, I remembered to bring a bag with me (a rarity). I brought what I thought would be suitable, one of these, but it didn't cut it. We filled that thing up in no time. It made me realize that I don't really have any big bags. Yes, I have big purse type bags, but not any BIG market bags, as in extra large bags.
Of course, a new bag was in order. I used my pattern for that too
small bag to come up with a much bigger version. It had to be wide,
deep, and not look like a regular tote (how boring is that?).
I went to my sheet stash because that just seemed right. Oh, my beloved sheet stash. I'm so happy I'm no longer afraid to cut into them. I skipped the interfacing opting for floppy and easy folding. It's also fully reversible.
The plan is to keep 2 or 3 of these in the van for groceries or
whatever. Now that I think about it, I'll bet the old quilt I keep in
van for outdoor use would fit in one of these nicely. Carrying that quilt around the
ball park will be so much easier now. Oh, and beach towels - I never
have a bag big enough for those. Yes, this will be perfect.
Gosh, who knew I had such a need? Maybe I should put a few in the shop...maybe, just thinking out loud.
