Hi there!  I promise that I didn't fall off the face of the earth, I've just been swamped with boring work stuff (the day job).  All last week I was in a class learning a new software, so by the end of the day my brain was fried.  Once I made it home in the evening (later than usual) all I could do was feed myself then go to bed.  Not a fun week at all.  And all that spring loveliness going on outside was torture - sitting in front of a monitor all day was NOT what I wanted to be doing!!  At least I was able to walk around at lunch time to soak up some that that beauty.

My weekend was spent catching up on all that I wasn't able to accomplish last week.  Whew!  I'm glad that week is behind me.  Thanks to Mardi Gras, I have a little holiday on Tuesday - wahoo!  Parades?  No, thank-you.  Sleeping late and spending some time in my studio?  Yes, please.

I've got some appliques to turn into bags and a new bag design to test out. Oh yes, I'm such a party animal ;) (see?  i told you i was stuck!!)

 

spring has sprung!

Whoa!  It seems like it happened overnight.  I know for certain that I checked out my bradford pear tree on Monday morning and it barely had tiny little buds on the ends of the naked branches.   This afternoon (Wednesday) it is in FULL bloom - even a few leaves have popped out.  Amazing!!

I tell ya, it's hard to concentrate on anything with all this beauty explosing outside my window.  I always look forward to seeing my red-bud tree in full bloom.  Love it.

And then there's this thing, our loropetalum.  This is only a small section of it, but I don't think I've ever seen that many fuzzy little blooms on it.  It is a blaze of hot pink against the brick of our house.  

I especially love seeing all these blooms against that beautiful clear blue sky.  Yes, I do believe I've been afflicted with spring fever!
