I knew the weekend would be a good one when my Saturday morning breakfast dishes looked like this. Aren't they pretty (or am I just crazy)?
It all started Friday evening when Matt and I had a date. Yes a date - with a real babysitter home with the kids! I normally don't like dates on Fridays because we're both pooped, but on Leap Day we had a little extra energy. The evening was nice, but after dinner we were tired, so we called it a night. When we got home all the kids were asleep - in their own beds! That babysitter is a keeper, for sure!
Saturday morning I went outside to look for a tape measure then ended up pulling weeds from my flowerbeds. The rest of the family eventually joined me. It was so nice being outside, soaking up the warm rays. I still have a lot more work to do in my yard, but it's a start.
Saturday night Alex went to his grandparent's house, so we only had the girls. It's funny how having one less kid changes the dynamics. It was so cute seeing Lily and Ava interact without their brother around. I hope they stay close to each other as they grow up. I never had a sister, so that's something I always wanted. We ended up going out to dinner to a deli then doing some shopping. It was a fun night.
Sunday was a lazy day with a little more yard work. I planted some white petunias in my window box and added a few more in my flower beds. Spring is here! Later we went to Lily's soccer game, then had an early supper and watched a movie. Lucky for me, all the kids went to bed early, which meant sewing time for me, in a clean sewing room - YAY!
Yes, it was a good weekend.
