April? Already? Woosh! Busy busy busy, that’s my only excuse. I hate leaving this place hanging, so I figured a little update via my instagram feed (@artsycraftybabe) is better than nothing, but honestly, I think my IG feed is a little boring at the moment.
Spring down here is glorious, but very short lived. While the weather is nice we have to take full advantage of it. On the last day of spring break we went to the Audubon zoo, one of our family’s favorite places. It was Ceci’s first time. Can you believe that I didn’t get one picture of her there? Not one! I guess we’ll have to rely on our memories for that one. I’m sure there will be many more zoo visits in her future.
With the longer days and the good weather we’ve been spending lots of time outside working and playing in the yard (when there’s no soccer or baseball going on). Things are blooming like crazy. The azeleas have petered out, but my knockout roses are going bonkers. My bushes are so full that I decided to bring some inside. Well, Alex picking one gave me the idea ;-)
Keeping my sanity during all of our goings on has been my alabama chanin-esque project. I get a little panicky if I leave the house without it. I am in love with this project. I can’t wait to show you the finished project, but there’s still a bit of stitching left to do.
I’m sure once I’m done I’ll jump right back into another. As much as I’d love to get reacquainted with my sewing machine, with another soccer tournament on the horizon, baseball season just beginning, and our family entering high birthday season, I don’t see that happening any time soon. I tend to get bitten by the quilting bug in the middle of summer, so it’s coming. Until then, I’ll keep on stitching...
