Um, last night I planned to post here, but that never happened and now I have no idea what I was going to write about. It was signifigant enough to post about, yet I don't remember. Crazy, huh? My brain really has gone to mush. Moving on to the random happenings from my week...

The other night Ava was playing in her room while I was cooking supper. After a while I didn't hear from her, which in her case could mean trouble, so I had to investigate. This is what I found. She was o-u-t, completely conked out with sweet tart wrappers strewn all around her. It happened to be one of her not so good days at school, and I think we know why. I thought she may sleep all night, but she woke up a half hour before bedtime, ate some supper, then went back to bed. I guess she was tired.

The laundry never got folded this week. Our latest laundry routine is to do the washing all weekend, dividing the clean clothes into piles by person. That person is responsible for folding and putting up their own stuff. It's a good thing the kids have a 5 day weekend (thank you Mardi Gras) to do last week's + this week's folding. My goal is to get it all out of my bedroom and into theirs.

Aren't these tulips gorgeous? For the past 2 weeks I've been picking up some tulips with the groceries for a little pick me up. Those tulips are a bright spot in my usually disaterous kitchen.

A bright spot in my week was a little antique store score. No, I don't have a need for an old kitchen scale, but I saw it and had to have it. I later realized that it has my birth year on it, so I do believe it was meant to be. When we *finally* get new counters, it is going to look awesome.

So here it is, Friday again, notice a pattern? But this isn't just any old Friday, but a loooong weekend. I hope it's a good one for you :)

Happy Valentine's Day! 

I couldn't resist taking some photos of baby girl in her heart print gown. Remember that gown? This is the first that she's worn it, and I love it! It fits her perfectly right now. I'm kind of surprised that I actually made that. Hmmm, I wonder where I put that pattern???

We did a little Valentine making this weekend. Nothing too involved, just some photo lollipop cards and a decorated Valentine box for Ava for holding all her Valentines. I'm still finding glitter in various places.

And there's one little leftover heart stuck to the floor. I don't mind it hanging around. It's nice to find a surprise heart every now and then.

Friday again? Already? Geeze Louise, time is flying by! I had plans of posting more this week, in fact I have two posts drafted and waiting, but by the time 9 pm rolls around, I'm beat. Apart from this being my blogging time, that's also my window to take my bath, clean up the kitchen, do whatever I need to do for the next day, feed the baby one more time before she goes down for the night, and well, you get the picture. There was a time when I could stay up until midnight doing all those things with no problem getting up in the morning, but I think those days are behind me.

Overall, I think this was a pretty good week. We had our usual activities, but I think I handled them all pretty smoothly. All the laundry got washed & put away, I cooked dinner most nights, my house is still messy, but not a *complete* disaster, I call that a success! We even had one night when my mother-in-law cooked dinner for us, so that was a special treat.

I'm not sure I want to admit this right now, but I think Ceci is sleeping through the night. We had several nights in a row when she slept for 6-7 hours in her own bed. The first few times it happened I woke up in a panic thinking that something was wrong. Nope, she was just sleeping. I guess I can't complain about that, but I do miss having her snuggled next to me.  Having said all that, she woke up with a stuffy nose this morning, so all that sleeping may come to an end.  

Little Miss is almost rolling over. Slow down already!!

Guess what I did this week? It's so very grown up, I'm embarrassed to admit that we've never really done it already. I made a budget. Not just a running tally in my head on what we usually spend on things, but a real, track every penny kind of thing. I honestly had no idea where all our money was going. I'm not going to lie, putting it all down on paper was scary. I had to get over some emotional hurdles to do it. But it's done, and I feel better. I'm not sure that my budget goals are realistic, but you have to start somewhere.

And now the weekend is here. Hooray! We've got basketball games, soccer practices, and a birthday party on the agenda. My crazy, busy, happy life. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get a nap...but I'm not counting on it!!

Oh Friday, thank goodness you're here!  Let me tell you, now that I'm back at work, Fridays mean SO much more to me. They certainly aren't just another day of the week. What I'm most looking forward to is not having to wake up at 5:15 for a few days. Ouch. That one has been tough getting used to. Even going to bed early hasn't helped ease that pain. Coffee is my friend.

This bazaar-o weather is messing me up.  What happened to winter? I do believe it skipped this part of the world. We've been having highs in the 70's for days now. We're used to mild winters down here, but this is ridiculous. According to the calendar I shouldn't be wearing sandals and shorts right now, or running my a/c.

Now that I'm out of the cozy up for winter mode and feel like I'm catching spring fever, I want to change up my house. I'm not sure what I want, but the phrase 'light and bright' comes to mind. Many rooms in my house are entirely too dark. I'm not sure how I'll remedy that, but I feel some painted furniture coming on (when I'll find the time for that, I have NO idea, but I can dream). 

I picked up a new water cup today. I love it. It is supposed to be for drinking water at work, but I think I need one for home, too. How can you not smile while looking at it? I generally hate drinking out of plastic cups, but I'm kinda addicted to these cups. They finally solved a little problem I have at home with Ruby drinking out of my glass when left unattended (GROSS!). That silly dog things that she's a person.

*News Flash* Ava got excellent conduct marks this week at school. I haven't mentioned it here, but we've been having a wee bit of trouble that one. Let's just say that being an attentive student isn't always her thing.  Oh, she's capable if she wants to. A few weeks ago she made the proclamation "getting an A is BORING. you have to just sit there and do your work". Oh Ava.

Do you have any plans this weekend? Something exciting? When I'm not picking up the house or doing the laundry, I *plan* to do as little as possible, maybe fit in a some sewing if I get the chance (that post is still in draft mode). That's always my plan but never seems to work out.  Oh well, bring it.

3 months

It's hard to believe that Cecilia is 3 months old today. 3 months! It seems like such a short amount of time, yet so much has happened.

Ceci is by far my most laid back child - thank goodness! She hardly ever cries, unless she needs something, and she's a good eater & sleeper.  She'll happily lay on a blanket exploring her surroundings if i need to put her down for a bit, but her favorite place to be is in the moby wrap. Oh my, what a lifesaver that moby wrap has been! 

She's all full of smiles and laughs. Oh, how I love hearing her laugh! Unlike all my others, she knows how to self-soothe. She likes to suck her fingers and rub her hair. Sometimes she gets a bit rough and scratches her head up, but she doesn't seem to mind.

With so much going on her around, I guess she has to go with the flow. Drop offs, pick ups, basketball games, dance classes, she's been to them all. And all the kids adore her. I was expecting to have some issues with the de-throned baby, but so far not much has happened. It's a bit hectic at times, but she fits right into our family nicely. I can't imagine life any other way!!!
